Join us on a relaxing drive along the banks
of the river Brenta that links Padua to Venice, where the
Venetian nobility built their summer villas - some decorated
with splendid frescoes and designed by famous architects such as
Palladio, Scamozzi and Longhena. We pass through the picturesque
towns of Mira and Dolo, heading towards the highlight of the
tour, the Villa Pisani at Stra, a symbol of excellence and of
the greatness of the 18th century, where it takes a couple of
hours to enjoy a stroll in the grounds with its labyrinth and
stables, and the villa itself with frescoes by G.B. Tiepolo. The
villa was built by the Pisani family of Venice between 1720 and
1756 to celebrate the election of Alvise Pisani as Doge, and had
renowned guests: King Gustavus of Sweden, Napoleon, Counts of
Northern Europe, Savoia family and many more.
