Strolling through the narrow streets, led by
a guide, you will suddenly emerge on majestic St. Mark's Square,
the hub of the city. Byzantine in heritage, it was the political
and monumental center of the ancient Venetian republic; from
these palaces, Venice once dominated the seas. Visit the
Basilica containing St. Mark's tomb and dazzling gold mosaics.
Next door is the exquisite pink and white marble Doge Palace,
where the elected Doges lived and governed. Its beautifully
decorated courtyard leads to magnificently decorated chambers.
In Europe's grandest drawing room, close to the Bell Tower and
the Clock Tower, you will see a demonstration of Venetian
glass-blowing, upon request to your guide.
